Junior SW QA

The Applied R&D Engineer conducts target-oriented research to directly apply findings to the specification, design, further development, and incremental improvement of products, services, systems, tools, processes, etc. Integrates, verifies, tests, and modifies SW / HW / system components and capitalises on innovative solutions to meet particular requirements and specifications. Position: Software Engineer C++ Location: Hybrid in Carnaxide, Portugal Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate finish MSc / BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Contribute to the Product R&D lifecycle with guidance from more experienced team members
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, retrospectives), supporting requirement analysis and test case discussions
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests using Python and pytest, aligned with the team's Definition of Done
• Support the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks and test suites
• Assist in identifying defects, analyzing test results, and reporting issues clearly
• Learn and apply AI-assisted testing techniques, such as LLM-supported test design, automated test generation, and test data creation
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices and test processes

You have

• Understanding of optical transmission fundamentals
• Experience with Python and exposure to pytest or other test automation frameworks
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with software testing concepts and test automation fundamentals

It would be also nice if you had

• Interest or initial experience with AI/ML applications in software testing
• ISTQB certification (or willingness to obtain it)
• Personal or academic projects related to testing or automation
