The Scrum Master position resides in Amgen Capability center Portugal. Our interdisciplinary team located in Portugal, North America and India is an energetic, tight-knit team who is passionate about designing, developing, and delivering innovative full-stack AI and cloud solutions, frameworks, native pipelines, COTS pipelines, and bringing maximum value to our business clients using cutting-edge DevOps and cloud technologies from multiple providers. As a Scrum Master, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating Agile practices, ensuring effective sprint planning, execution, and delivery of features, improvements, validations, and data integration that drive value for our business users. In this role, you will empower your team to achieve its goals, leveraging your skills to foster collaboration and efficiency.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Use agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines to enable product delivery, continuous innovation, and
• milestone tracking working with product managers and technical teams across Amgen
• Work with engineering and business team(s) to ensure the product backlog is built into a product plan of record with clear execution paths, milestones, dependencies, and change management
• Communicate product status and metrics to cross-group teams, product owners, internal and external partners, and executive management
• Build strong relationships with key upstream and downstream stakeholder teams and build business, patient, and customer needs into rapid deliverables at cloud speed
• Help drive change across Amgen to support a culture of custom software development and product management
• Be constantly curious and feed your passion and interests in cutting-edge technology and as you are given
• time to look for new and innovative ways to do business differently, better, and more cost effectively

Basic Qualifications:

• Master's degree in computer science or engineering field and 1 to 3 years of relevant experience OR
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering field and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience OR
• Diploma and Minimum of 8+ years of relevant work experience

Functional Skills

• Certified Scrum Master or SAFe Scrum Master or similar (mandatory)
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies particularly the Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Prior experience with Agile project management tools, such as Jira, Confluence and Jira Align
• Experience in guiding teams through Agile events and ensuring adherence to agreed practices and behaviors
• Adapt at refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection and other Scrum Techniques
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges with data
• Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to work seamlessly in a cross-functional team
• Good understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Good understanding of DevOps and Test Automation Processes in software delivery
• Certified SAFe Practitioner (preferred)
• Project Management Institute (PMI) - Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified (preferred)
• Be able to accommodate working hours from 11:00 to 20:00 to support North America Team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in lead agile development teams using a DevOps/CI/CD pipeline to regularly release software product
• experience as a key contributor in building and enhancing enterprise-class systems through the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Prior experience managing AI/cloud-based projects or initiatives
• Inquisitive in both technical and business skills to understand, test, and challenge existing assumptions and culture while working harmoniously with business and technology owners to drive change and embrace a new culture
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
• Ability to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross-functional groups including SW engineering, Networking, and infrastructure
