Six Senses is recruiting a Commis Chef to join our team in the award-winning Douro Valley!

Below are some of the tasks you will perform on a daily basis:

• Prevent food spoilage through daily checks and ensure that all food received and sent is in accordance with the standards established by the property.
• Ensure that all training carried out regarding preparation, hygiene, and food hygiene standards is passed on, understood, and followed by subordinates.
• Verify the quality of raw materials in the designated area, as well as their storage, handling, and use.
• Produce all necessary food in accordance with standards and in a timely manner, within the designated section.
• Maintain consistent quality and demonstrate continuous efforts to improve the products produced in the designated area.
• Prepare all mise en place and meet with the Chef de Partie/Sous Chef to plan daily food and beverage activities.
• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of the products served.
• Consistently know and comply with standard portion sizes, preparation methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules and guidelines.
• Replenish and maintain sufficient levels of food products at service stations to ensure a smooth service period.
• Follow the proper presentation of dishes and the arrangement of side dishes for all dishes.
