Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, SWD/JTAG probes);
Nice to have
Autonomy in research and problem-solving, with transparency in communicating risks and uncertainties;
A passion for multidisciplinary work, at the frontier between firmware, hardware, and systems integration;
Availability for on-site work in Alverca do Ribatejo.
Pay & benefits
What you'll get
Salary range of €1,400 to €1,600 gross per month;

The role
We are looking for a Firmware Development Engineer to join our electronics team. You will be responsible for the development of firmware for critical flight embedded systems—ranging from battery management systems (BMS) and navigation peripherals to communication modules—on UAV platforms. You will work in close collaboration with the hardware, systems integration, and flight test teams, in an environment where reliability and safety are first-order requirements.
What you'll do
Develop, test, and maintain firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers, including peripheral configuration and power management;
Design RTOS-based firmware architectures, with attention to temporal determinism, task priorities, and synchronization mechanisms;
Implement and validate communication protocols between drone subsystems;
Integrate firmware with the flight controller ecosystem, including the development of peripheral nodes;
Perform hardware-level testing using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and trace tools (SWD/JTAG);
Write technical documentation and participate in code and design reviews;
Support bench validation campaigns and flight tests, analyzing logs and diagnosing anomalies.
