Robotics Workshop Leader, TUMO Porto
The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is a free educational program that puts adolescents, between the ages of 12 and 18, in charge of defining their own learning journey, allowing them to expand their knowledge in technology and creativity, regardless of their socioeconomic context. Founded in Yerevan, Armenia, in 2011, TUMO is present in 10 countries, including France, Germany and soon Japan, the Netherlands and the United States.
In Portugal, TUMO is being implemented by Shaken Not Stirred, the same team that also brought the 42 project to Portugal. The first center opened for the first time in September 2023 in Coimbra, with the second center opening in Lisbon in September 2024 and the third in Porto, with inauguration in 2025 - each of these centers has a capacity for 1500.
Students combine the learning objectives of TUMO (Robotics, Photography, Game Development, Graphic Design, Film Production, Programming, Music and Animation) in their learning plans, constantly adapting them to suit their progress and evolving preferences. Soft skills such as teamwork, initiative, empathy and effective communication are incorporated into the educational program, along with subject matter knowledge and technical skills.
There are three learning methods at TUMO: Self-Learning, Workshops and Learning Labs, which are developed in person at the TUMO centers under the guidance of our pedagogical and mentoring team, having access to our digital platform and all the necessary hardware and software.
The TUMO Portugal is expanding its centre in Porto and intends to create a team of Workshop Leaders in the different learning areas. Each learning area will have 2 or 3 Workshop Leaders. They will be responsible for leading the workshops throughout each school year, using the content and pedagogical materials provided by TUMO Armenia for this purpose. They do not need to create content from scratch and do not need any teaching experience - it is enough to be specialists in the areas to which they apply as Workshop Leaders, to be genuinely enthusiastic about the TUMO project and to have a great desire to work with young people.
Based on the established pedagogical model, Workshop Leaders of Robotics will work directly with the students of the TUMO Porto Center to:
Develop Robotics workshops from TUMO materials combined with their respective experience and creativity;
Evaluate students' work at the end of each workshop;
Evaluate the self-learning activities weekly;
Guide students, giving them constructive feedback for their evolution;
Promote learning in a collaborative and proactive way;
Degree in Engineering or equivalent with Robotics content, postgraduate studies or 3 or more years of similar/area work experience are preferred;
