What we're looking for

skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields;
- Experience or strong familiarity with industry safety standards (e.g., DO-178, DO-254, ARP-4754, ARP-4761, ASTM, MIL-STD-882);
- Practical knowledge of safety and reliability analysis methodologies, such as FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis);
- Orientation towards Systems Engineering principles and product lifecycle management;
- Knowledge of or interest in regulatory frameworks for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), such as European regulations (EU) 2019/945 and 2019/947, SORA, or Special Conditions Light-UAS;
- Assertive communication skills to bridge the gap between technical engineering teams and legal regulation teams;
- Comfort working in dynamic environments and agile methodologies (Agile/Scrum);
- Mandatory fluency in English.

The role

Randstad is recruiting a Product Safety Engineer for the Aerospace and Defense sector. Our client is a leading and pioneering company in the development of autonomous systems and advanced aerospace technologies, focusing on the development of high-reliability solutions for maritime security, defense, and intelligence missions.

Mission: You will be the main point of contact between the Product Engineering team and the Airworthiness Department, ensuring the execution of functional risk analyses and the mitigation of hazards from the initial design phases through to final aircraft certification.

What you'll do

key responsibilities
- Conduct detailed safety assessments, identifying and mitigating risks from the initial product concept through to its certification;
- Act as the primary communication channel between the Product Design teams and the regulatory department;
- Perform design reviews and inspections of electronic schematics to ensure compliance with functional safety standards;
- Develop safety requirements and technical specifications for new functionalities and new products;
- Ensure the consistent application of Airworthiness Directives and mandatory tools throughout the product lifecycle;
- Prepare safety reports, technical documentation, and safety cases in accordance with regulatory authority guidelines;
- Integrate planning meetings into an Agile/Scrum environment to implement a safety mindset from day one of the development cycle.
