Sampling Technician - Laboratory - Vila Nova de Gaia

Suma, a waste collection company, intends to reinforce its structure by hiring a professional for the Laboratory Area.

This role plays an essential part in performing sampling of different types of water, executing field tests, and completing the respective technical records, while also ensuring the correct preservation and transport of samples, in compliance with the Laboratory's internal procedures.

- Perform sampling of water samples from different matrices, according to the Laboratory's internal procedures and the established planning.
- Carry out field records in a complete, rigorous, and traceable manner, ensuring the correct identification of samples, locations, dates, times, measured parameters, and any occurrences.
- Contribute to the quality control associated with sampling and field tests and parameters, according to the planning defined by the Technical Manager of the area.
- Update, whenever applicable, the control sheets relating to the sampling and the field tests and parameters performed.
- Prepare all material necessary for performing the samplings, namely flasks, equipment, documentation, consumables, and packaging means.
- Ensure the routine maintenance, verification, and calibration or intermediate verification of the measuring and testing equipment used in field activities, in compliance with the defined procedures.
- Report deviations, occurrences, needs for intervention, and opportunities for improvement identified during the activities.
- Execute other support tasks for the activity, whenever necessary.

Skills

- Qualifications and Professional Experience
- Vocational secondary education, corresponding to Level 5 of the National Qualifications Framework, preferably in the areas of Chemistry, Environment, or similar.
- Minimum professional experience of two years in similar roles.
- Knowledge of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard applied to sampling activities, field tests, technical records, traceability, and quality control.
- Knowledge of the use, verification, routine maintenance, and calibration or intermediate verification of field measuring equipment.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, namely Excel and Word.
- Category B driver's license - mandatory requirement.
- Ability for organization, planning, and time management.
- High sense of responsibility, rigor, and attention to detail.
- Proactive attitude in problem-solving, demonstrating dynamism, initiative, and a sense of responsibility.
