Requirements

What we're looking for

Minimum mandatory schooling;
Experience in railway infrastructure construction and/or maintenance works, preferably;
Qualification in Railway Safety, within the scope of IET 77, suitable for performing the function;
Knowledge of the procedures associated with the Warning at the Work Front;
Ability to maintain high levels of attention and concentration for prolonged periods;
High sense of responsibility and rigor in complying with procedures;
Ability to timely identify approaching traffic and issue the respective warning;
Communication and teamwork skills;
Availability to work in a railway context;
Daytime shift work;
Driver's license.

Nice to have

Previous experience performing Warning Lookout functions in railway works;
Experience in works carried out with the Warning at the Work Front safety measure;
Experience in works on the track or in its proximity;
Practical knowledge of IET 77 and railway safety procedures;
Experience in functions that require permanent attention to railway traffic.

The role

Zagope - Construções e Engenharia, S.A., a leading multinational company in the engineering and construction sector, intends to recruit a Warning Lookout (m/f) to join railway infrastructure work execution teams in the Pegões area.

What you'll do

We are looking for a responsible and attentive professional, with training in railway safety, to perform functions associated with the Warning at the Work Front safety measure, ensuring the timely warning of approaching railway traffic and contributing to the protection of teams working on or near the track.

Dedicate oneself exclusively to the warning of approaching railway traffic and the protection of the work team;
Maintain permanent vigilance over approaching traffic;
Timely issue the warning to the work team when detecting the approach of traffic, in accordance with the established Announcement Distance;
Ensure the correct use of the audible warning device;
Immediately inform the Works Supervisor of any failure or deficiency detected in the audible warning device;
Remain at the workstation throughout the entire period of performing the function, not abandoning it without having a replacement previously ensured;
Maintain adequate communication with the Works Supervisor and the team;
Inform the Works Supervisor whenever they consider they do not meet the physical or psychological conditions necessary for the safe performance of the function;
After the passage of traffic, verify its total exit from the work front and ensure that no other traffic is approaching;
Give the indication for the resumption of work, only after safety conditions have been confirmed;
Strictly comply with applicable railway safety procedures and rules.
