The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is a free educational program that puts adolescents, between the ages of 12 and 18, in charge of defining their own learning journey, allowing them to expand their knowledge in technology and creativity, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Founded in Yerevan, Armenia, in 2011, TUMO is present in 10 countries, including France, Germany and soon Japan, the Netherlands and the United States.
In Portugal, TUMO is being implemented by Shaken Not Stirred, the same team that also brought the 42 project to Portugal. The first center opened in September 2023 in Coimbra, with the second center opening in Lisbon in September 2024 and the third in Porto, with its inauguration in 2025 - each of these centers has a capacity of 1500.
Students combine the learning objectives of TUMO (Robotics, Photography, Game Development, Graphic Design, Film Production, Programming, Music and Animation) in their learning plans, constantly adapting them to suit their progress and evolving preferences. Soft skills such as teamwork, initiative, empathy and effective communication are incorporated into the educational program, along with subject matter knowledge and technical skills.
There are three learning methods at TUMO: Self-Learning, Workshops and Learning Labs, which are developed in person at the TUMO centers under the guidance of our pedagogical and mentoring team, having access to our digital platform and all the necessary hardware and software.
TUMO Portugal is expanding the center in Coimbra and intends to increase the Learning Coaches team. These will be responsible for supporting students as they progress through TUMO's self-learning activities, as well as supporting the rest of the staff in managing the TUMO Coimbra Center. The Learning Coach will primarily have the opportunity to inspire and guide young people aged 12 to 18 and share their passion and skills in technology and design.
Based on the established pedagogical model, Learning Coaches will work directly with students of the TUMO Coimbra Center to:
Support students in their completion of self-learning activities, being present in the space to clarify doubts and assist in their motivation;
Offer students guidance with a view to the completion of learning activities;

Provide support in workshops given by specialists from various areas;
Support the functions of Admissions Specialist and Marketing and Community Specialist;
