Requirements

What we're looking for

Master's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structures,
Minimum 6 years of experience in the development of Structural projects, in their different phases
Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of Structural Engineering principles.
Knowledge in the use of calculation and structural analysis programs such as SAP 2000/Robot Structural Analysis/etc, RIDO, K-REA, CUBUS (CEDRUS, STATIK, FAGUS), IdeaStatica
Experience with international standards applied to structural calculation and sizing (ACI, AASHTO, Eurocodes, etc.).

Nice to have

Knowledge in the use of BIM methodology will be valued.
Fluent in English (spoken and written). Minimum level B2/C1. Proficiency in other languages will be valued.
Knowledge of programming (VBA, Python, C#, etc.) and interest in its application for the development of internal tools will be valued.
Ability to work in a team, sense of responsibility and rigor, availability to share acquired experiences and knowledge.

Context

What you'll do

Within the scope of a high-level infrastructure project in Portugal, SYSTRA is looking for a senior structural design engineer to reinforce the team at the Porto office.

Missions/Main Duties

Support the conceptual development of structural solutions for buildings and viaducts, including foundations and support structures
Develop calculation models for the development of different types of analyses (static, seismic, dynamic)
Prepare technical notes, descriptive reports, and supporting calculations
Analyze and review external reports resulting from geotechnical surveys, surveys, and structural monitoring, etc.
Sizing and detailing of reinforced concrete, precast, and prestressed structures
Sizing and detailing of steel structures
Sizing of temporary and permanent retaining structures
Definition of construction phasing and coordination with other specialties
Participation in meetings with clients and other stakeholders in multidisciplinary projects.
