The role

Randstad is collaborating with a leading Portuguese company in the Engineering and Manufacturing of Thermoplastic Solutions sector, which is currently undergoing a full process of modernization and technological innovation. We are looking to integrate an Automation and Robotics Engineer into our client's technical team to lead the study, programming, and implementation of new robotic equipment and industrial sustainability projects.

Mission: To assume an active role in advanced robotics and process innovation, being responsible for the study and programming of a new industrial plastic welding robot, providing support to the production team, as well as participating in the development of material repurposing and 3D printing projects.

What you'll do

key responsibilities
- Study, program, and optimize the operation of the new plastic welding robot, ensuring its full integration into the production flow;
- Provide close support to the production team, acting in the identification, diagnosis, and agile resolution of technical and operational problems on a daily basis;
- Develop and monitor circular economy projects, focused on the repurposing and recycling of materials;
- Participate in industrial 3D printing initiatives, from conceptualization to the development of parts and prototypes;
- Interpret and create technical drawings, ensuring the correct dimensioning of equipment and processes;
- Diagnose continuous improvement opportunities, applying strong logical and analytical reasoning to the resolution of automation challenges.
