Requirements

What we're looking for

At least 5 years of professional experience with PowerBuilder, including PowerScript, DataWindow and DataStores.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including stored procedures and query optimisation.
Proven experience working on financial markets projects (mandatory).
Good understanding of financial instruments and the trade lifecycle.
Experience with application maintenance, production support and troubleshooting in business-critical environments.
Proficiency in Git for version control.
Knowledge of n-tier application architectures.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
English proficiency at C1 level or above, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

Experience with PowerBuilder 2019 or 2022.
Previous involvement in application upgrades, migrations or modernisation projects.
Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services and data formats such as JSON and XML.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD practices.

The role

At Nimber, we're looking for an experienced Senior PowerBuilder Developer to join a challenging project within the financial markets sector.

You'll play a key role in developing, maintaining and modernising business-critical applications, combining strong PowerBuilder expertise with SQL development and production support.

We're looking for someone with proven financial markets experience, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver reliable technical solutions in a demanding environment.

What you'll do

Design, develop, enhance and maintain enterprise applications using PowerBuilder.
Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and database objects.
Investigate application issues, perform debugging and implement performance improvements.
Support production deployments and resolve incidents within agreed SLAs.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, QA teams and developers.
Participate in code reviews and promote development standards and best practices.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs and deployment procedures.
Estimate development efforts and contribute to project planning.
Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced developers when required.
