WHO ARE YOU
Job ID: 373105
Date posted: 18/10/2026
Many customers recognize IKEA for our beautiful, functional, and sustainable home products. In the food service area, we ensure that our customers have various, increasingly healthy and sustainable options at affordable prices to complement their experience in our stores—or in their homes. After all, as our founder used to say, no one does good shopping on an empty stomach!
Do you agree? Good!
Let us tell you more about food service at IKEA.
At IKEA, we believe that everyone has talent. Therefore, we expect our candidates to have:
- I enjoy working in food service, in a team, in a dynamic and collaborative way;
- I enjoy customer contact and the desire to offer good service that gives our customers a reason to return to IKEA more often;
- Ability to manage stress, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to set priorities and organize one's own work efficiently;
- A flexible and receptive approach to change, with a proactive and entrepreneurial spirit, seeking new ways to do things and improve the customer experience.
A DAY IN YOUR LIFE AT IKEA
We all know how fundamental it is to keep the kitchen and pantry tidy and organized in our homes. Therefore, in the food service department, all collaborators must ensure a clean, organized, and inviting workspace.
We are organized into five areas, with different work focuses:
- Kitchen, where we prepare and cook the various dishes we have available for our customers and collaborators;
- Customer restaurant is the team that provides service, approaching the customer actively, welcoming them with friendliness and, if necessary, even helping with the selection process;
- Staff restaurant (yes, we have a restaurant for staff!) with a varied, increasingly healthy and sustainable offering at very affordable prices;
- Bistro is that area after the checkout line, where you can buy hot dogs (among other things!). This team prepares the delicacies and provides customer service.
- Swedish Food Market, where our customers can take their favorite Swedish products home. In this area, the team provides customer service and ensures the management of the sales space, ensuring that products are always in perfect condition and with the price correctly displayed;
The safety of our products is always a priority for IKEA. Thus, our collaborators must contribute to safety, efficiency, and good operational practices in accordance with routines and current food safety standards (HACCP).
TOGETHER AS A TEAM
Inspired by our Swedish roots and humanist vision, at IKEA we have a unique culture. We believe that all people have value, regardless of any dimension of their identity - diversity is an asset to our business.
We value a spirit of togetherness and informality. Therefore, it is very likely that you will feel at home here!
We truly want to create a better everyday life for our customers. And for our co-workers.
Thus, these are some of the benefits we offer:
- Co-worker Restaurant: a space dedicated to co-workers, with diverse and healthy options, for a complete meal at an affordable price (mouth-watering!)
- Schedules communicated in advance so that it is easier to balance work with your personal life (studies, hobbies, other jobs, or even doing nothing...)
- Social and psychological support through the CÖNTIGO program;
- Annual bonus to celebrate the collective effort to grow the business;
- Discounts and benefits through partnerships: gyms, technology, cosmetics, hotels, travel, etc.;
- Continuous training opportunities online, in-person, and on the job to explore your potential.
Working at IKEA is much more than just having a job.
