RAN Engineer - Consultancy

A large-scale wireless network delivery programme is now expanding, creating demand for senior RAN specialists with a focus on optimisation rather than planning. There is a strong requirement for experienced engineers with expertise across both modern 5G and legacy 2G technologies. Multiple hires are planned, with an initial intake of 6-7 contractors and the flexibility to scale further as demand increases.

Responsibilities

• Lead RAN optimisation across multi-technology networks including 2G, 4G and 5G
• Focus on 5G feature optimisation including DSS and voice services such as VoLTE and VoNR
• Analyse network KPIs and performance data to drive improvements
• Troubleshoot live network performance issues
• Produce technical documentation and analysis reports
• Engage directly with customers and stakeholders
• Support delivery across deployment and post-deployment optimisation

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Technical
  • Strong experience in RAN optimisation
  • Hands-on knowledge of 5G NR features and performance tuning
  • Experience with legacy 2G GSM networks
  • Exposure to multi-vendor environments
  • Understanding of DSS, VoLTE, VoNR and network performance metrics
• Soft Skills
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in remote setups
