ABOUT US

The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies is a free educational program that puts adolescents, between the ages of 12 and 18, in charge of defining their own learning journey, allowing them to expand their knowledge in technology and arts, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Founded in Yerevan, Armenia, in 2011, TUMO is present in 10 countries, including France, Germany and soon Japan, the Netherlands and the United States.

In Portugal, TUMO is being implemented by Shaken Not Stirred, the same team that also brought the 42 project to Portugal. The first center opened for the first time in September 2023 in Coimbra, with the second center opening in Lisbon in September 2024 and the third in Porto, with inauguration in 2025 - each of these centers has a capacity for 1500.

Students combine the learning objectives of TUMO (Robotics, Photography, Game Development, Graphic Design, Film Production, Programming, Music and Animation) in their learning plans, constantly adapting them to suit their progress and evolving preferences. Soft skills such as teamwork, initiative, empathy and effective communication are incorporated into the educational program, along with subject matter knowledge and technical skills.

There are three learning methods at TUMO: Self-Learning, Workshops and Project Labs, which are developed in person at TUMO centers under the guidance of our pedagogical and mentoring team, with access to our digital platform and all the necessary hardware and software.

ABOUT THE ROLE

TUMO Portugal is expanding the center in Lisbon and intends to create a team of Workshop Leaders in different learning areas. Each learning area will have 1 or 2 Workshop Leaders. They will be responsible for, during each school year, leading the workshops, using the content and pedagogical material provided by TUMO Armenia for this purpose. You do not need to create content from scratch and you do not need to have any experience as teachers - it will be enough to be specialists in the areas you apply for as Workshop Leaders, be truly enthusiastic about the TUMO project and have a great desire to work with young people.

Based on the established pedagogical model, Workshop Leaders in Robotics will work directly with the students of the TUMO Lisbon Center to:

  • Develop Robotics workshops from TUMO materials combined with their respective experience and creativity;

  • Evaluate students' work at the end of each workshop;

  • Evaluate the self-learning activities weekly;

  • Guide students, giving them constructive feedback for their evolution;

  • Promote learning in a collaborative and proactive way;

ABOUT YOU

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent with Robotics content, postgraduate studies or 3 or more years of similar/area work experience are preferred;

  • Proficiency in Arduino, LEGO Mindstorms and LabView programs (eliminatory factor);

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese, written and spoken (eliminatory factor);

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills;

  • Experience in education and working with young people (plus);
