Requirements
What we're looking for
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field;
- +5 years of experience in similar roles, with a focus on software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or MLOps.
- Demonstrated experience in the deployment and operation of machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong programming skills, preferably in Python and in one or more additional modern programming languages.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, APIs, distributed systems, and production environments.
- Experience in the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience in model lifecycle management, experiment tracking, and model versioning.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems.
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, feature pipelines, and model training workflows.
- Familiarity with ML frameworks and the operational challenges associated with their deployment.
- Good understanding of security, access control, and software supply chain considerations.
- Ability to solve complex problems in distributed production systems.
- Ability to define technical standards and promote their adoption across engineering teams.
- Experience in mentoring or technical leadership of other engineers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across software, AI, data, and operations teams.
- High sense of responsibility and ease in operating within a growing technology organization.
- Fluent English level.

The role
Randstad Digital is recruiting a Lead MLOps Engineer to join an IT startup developing AI/ML solutions for the aerospace sector.
What you'll do
key responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of the MLOps architecture, tools, and operating model.
- "Hands-on" profile in the development of infrastructure, deployment pipelines, automation, and production systems.
- Design, build, and maintain the infrastructure necessary to develop, deploy, and operate ML models in production.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines for AI and ML workloads.
- Establish robust processes for model deployment, versioning, validation, promotion, and rollback.
- Implement observability for models, data, and pipelines, including monitoring of performance degradation, data drift, and operational anomalies.
- Ensure reproducibility across training, validation, and production environments.
- Build and maintain tools for model registries, artifact management, and experiment tracking.
- Work in close collaboration with AI/ML developers to improve the transition of prototype models to production-quality services.
- Integrate ML capabilities into the company's broader software and data platform.
- Support the scalable processing of large and heterogeneous datasets from multiple operational sources.
- Improve infrastructure automation and reduce manual operational work.
- Support deployment in cloud, private cloud, on-premises infrastructure, and secure or restricted environments, when necessary.
- Contribute to the reliability, availability, security, and performance of the platform.
- Establish appropriate logging, metrics, alerts, and tracing for ML-enabled services.
- Define technical standards, architecture patterns, and best practices for AI in production and MLOps.
- Contribute to architecture decisions regarding AI infrastructure, data pipelines, and deployment patterns.
- Help ensure that AI-enabled systems meet operational requirements for traceability, scalability, and reliability.
- Support incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of ML systems in production.
- Contribute to the management and support of the MLOps team and help strengthen this capability across the engineering organization.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of additional MLOps engineers.
- Help define the future structure, responsibilities, and operating model of the MLOps team.
