Appian Architect / Lead Developer

Technical skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Appian projects;
• Strong experience in end‑to‑end Appian solution architecture, including application design, definition of standards, structuring of UI layers, processes, data, and integrations;
• Advanced mastery of Appian SAIL, Process Models, Records, Data Fabric, Expression Rules, and Appian Design Patterns;
• Proven experience in architecture and orchestration of processes, including complex workflows, human‑in‑the‑loop, and straight‑through processing;
• Strong background in systems integration (integrations with API‑first architectures, REST/SOAP, Java/.NET backend, legacy systems);
• Knowledge of security and governance in Appian: Roles, groups, and permissions; Data and process level security;
• Solid experience in low-code application development in Appian, including: Appian SAIL; Process Models;
• Experience in data architecture in Appian, including persistence strategies, integration with relational databases, and proper use of Data Fabric vs external DB;
• Deep knowledge of non-functional requirements;
• Knowledge of testing best practices, as well as definition of CI/CD strategies and software promotion in Appian;

• Previous experience in projects with Agile methodology; will be valued

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Integrate and actively participate in technology consulting transformation projects, with the possibility of operational coordination and supervision of teams;
• Participation in functional and technical architecture projects for end‑to‑end Appian solutions;
• Design and implementation of business processes in Appian;
• Support for testing, UAT, and production entry phases and production of documentation;
• Possibility to technically lead BPM and Digital Process Automation initiatives, acting as a technical reference in Appian projects;
• Support critical phases of the project lifecycle, including technical pre‑sale, solution design, estimates, and technical planning;
• Define, promote, and ensure the adoption of Appian standards, guidelines, and best practices;
• Participation in the design and implementation of the solutions developed by the teams, ensuring quality, performance, and sustainability;
• Accompany critical decisions regarding architecture, integration, data, security, and performance;
• Collaborate closely with business and technology areas in enterprise environments, namely banking and insurance.

• This position will be based in our Deloitte offices in Portugal, in a hybrid model (mandatory).
