BPS - DevOps Engineer

At WINNING CONSULTING, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer/SRE profile with consolidated experience in enterprise cloud environments, with a focus on AWS and hybrid scenarios.

📍Lisbon (Hybrid)

• Hands-on experience with EC2, VPC, IAM, S3 and load balancers (ALB/NLB), including network design, segmentation, security rules, and high availability.
• Creation and management of AWS environments from scratch —from accounts, landing zones, and VPCs to application and data layers—with a focus on scalability, security, and cost optimization.
• Migration of workloads to AWS, including dependency analysis, target architecture design, and phased execution to minimize downtime. (nice to have)
• Intensive use of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management: reusable modules, remote state, validation pipelines, and promotion between environments.
• Best practices in versioning, code reviews, and integration with CI/CD pipelines (automated plan/apply, policy validation, etc.).
• CI/CD with GitLab: design, implementation, and maintenance of pipelines for applications and infrastructure, including testing, image builds, security analysis, and deployment to Kubernetes or VMs.
• Scripting in Bash and Python for automating operational routines, integrations, internal tooling, and pipeline support.
• Containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), with automated deployment via GitLab CI/CD, configuration management, and observability integration.
• Observability with Prometheus and Grafana: metrics, dashboards, alerts, and continuous improvement of SLOs/SLIs to ensure reliability and performance.
• Incident management: response to critical incidents, root cause analysis, follow-up with corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement of runbooks and automations.
• Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS) and cloud connectivity troubleshooting.
• Cloud security practices integrated into pipelines (SecOps): IAM, least privilege, security groups, WAF, encryption, and secrets management.
• Experience in support and management of VMs, networks, and integration with identities/AD in hybrid contexts.
• Ability to integrate workloads between AWS and Azure (VPNs, DNS, identity, logging, and monitoring).
• Operational knowledge of SQL/Oracle for troubleshooting support: diagnostic queries, execution plan analysis, locking, and performance metrics.
• Analysis of database metrics, storage, and anomaly patterns to support development and operations teams.
• Operate and evolve Cloud environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, and good cost management.
• Design and implement automations (Terraform, scripts, pipelines) to reduce manual work, errors, and delivery time.
• Act as a point of reference in infrastructure incidents, providing support for access and connectivity troubleshooting (IAM, VPN, RDP, AD, VPC, security groups, routing).
• Create and maintain VMs and workloads in AWS and Azure, aligned with architecture, security, and compliance standards.
• Contribute actively to CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, from stage definition to post-deploy observability.
• Implement and operate monitoring solutions with Prometheus/Grafana, ensuring effective alerting and visibility into platform health.
• Participate in incident management, post-mortems, and reliability initiatives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration between teams.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical teams, grounding decisions in data and relevant context.
