The role

Hello. We're Teya.

Teya was founded on a simple belief: local businesses deserve better.

They are the cafés, restaurants, salons, shops and entrepreneurs that bring character to our high streets, create jobs and keep communities moving. Yet for too long, financial services has made life harder for them - with clunky tools, poor support and complexity that gets in the way of running a business.

Teya exists to change that.

We're building a financial platform for local businesses across Europe - one built around simple tools, thoughtful design and real human support. Our Members rely on us to help them run their business with confidence, and that responsibility shapes the way we work.

We move fast. We care about quality. We stay close to the detail. And we believe great performance and genuine hospitality should go hand in hand.

If you want to build meaningful products, solve real problems and make a genuine difference for local businesses, we'd love to hear from you

What you'll do

  • Proactively follow up with customers in the first months after the sale, ensuring successful activation and product adoption.

  • Answer calls, respond to emails, and manage chats with customers, ensuring efficient and empathetic resolution.

  • Clarify doubts, resolve problems, and manage more complex situations with professionalism.

  • Identify at-risk customers based on signals such as low usage, inactivity, or repeated contacts, acting preventively.

  • Contact customers with growth potential and support the adoption of relevant products and features (e.g., Business Account, Instant Settlement, MOTO, among others)

  • Reduce friction at key moments of the customer journey and improve their overall experience.

  • Manage complaints effectively, escalating to other teams when necessary.

  • Maintain updated and organized records in internal systems.

  • Identify patterns in order to contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and the customer experience.

  • Develop solid knowledge of products and systems to support customers and internal teams.

We are looking for a Customer Relationship Specialist to join our team in Portugal. This role combines customer service with a proactive follow-up approach, ensuring not only problem resolution but also the activation, retention, and growth of our merchants.

Your mission

This is not a traditional support role. Here, you will actively accompany customers throughout their journey with Teya.

Your focus will be to ensure that every customer starts well, uses our products with confidence, and is able to quickly overcome any difficulties. At the same time, you will help strengthen the relationship with Teya and identify growth opportunities.

You will work closely with sales teams and other areas to ensure that customers receive the right support at any moment of their journey with Teya.

Your profile

  • You genuinely enjoy helping people and building relationships of trust.

  • You have a proactive approach and seek solutions before problems escalate.

  • You put the customer at the center of everything you do.

  • You have excellent communication skills and are fluent in Portuguese and English.

  • You are confident, communicative, and easily adapt your approach to different profiles.

  • You have empathy, but also a commercial sense and orientation towards results.

  • You are organized, structured, and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • You have energy, initiative, and a constant desire to learn and improve.

  • You face challenges with a positive attitude and solve problems quickly.

  • You have the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute ideas.

  • Previous experience in customer support, retention, sales, or similar roles.

Why you should join Teya

Because you will join a company that genuinely believes in small local businesses and in a more human, close, and intelligent way of building customer relationships. Here, you will have a real impact on our merchants' experience and on how we grow together.

Teya is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or background can thrive and do their best work. We believe that a diverse team leads to better ideas, stronger outcomes, and a more supportive workplace for all.

If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process whether for interviews, assessments, or other parts of the application-we encourage you to let us know. We are committed to ensuring that every candidate has a fair and accessible experience with us.
