Company History
Alcon was founded in 1945 by two pharmacists, Robert Alexander and William Conner, who opened a small pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas. The company was incorporated as Alcon Laboratories, Inc. in 1947 and has since grown into the largest eye care device company in the world, with a heritage of over 75 years. Alcon operates in 60 countries and serves patients in more than 140 countries.
